About Us

Clothes for a Cause is a youth-led nonprofit based in Detroit, Michigan, founded by high-school student Benjamin Mckany (President), co-led by fellow student leaders Charlie Nadeau (Co-President) and Justin Xia (Vice President).

We mobilize teens, families, and local partners to keep wearable clothing out of landfills and redirect it to shelters, youth programs, and schools where it can restore comfort, dignity, and confidence. Our student teams plan and run neighborhood and campus collection drives; sort, clean, repair, and re-style donations; track data on pounds diverted and items placed; and coordinate delivery with service agencies across Metro Detroit.
